What is JEE?

IIT, NIT, ISM, IIIT, CFTI, and GFTI are few of the most esteemed institutions for technical courses like Engineering and Architecture, and lakhs of students aspires to be a part of these establishments by appearing for the IITJEE.

The JEE examination is held in two stages,

  • JEE Main
  • JEE Advanced

The JEE Main 2017 is going to be held on April 2nd, 2017, and the JEE Advanced 2017 is going to be held on May 21st, 2017. The JEE Main 2017 is being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education whereas IIT Madras is the organizing institute of JEE Advanced 2017.

  • Cover NCERT thoroughly

Read your NCERT textbook and make a note of important concepts dealt in each of the chapters and practice questions on these topics from the reference books you have. Follow reference books but don’t often switch from one book to the other as it might affect your preparation.

  • Get your basics clear

Make your concepts crystal clear to you. Give the topics time it demands. How much you have studied is more important than how many hours you have studied. Seek help from your teachers, mentors, friends to through your basics and remove your doubts.

  • Follow a reliable source

Don’t rush for all the books available in the market. Choose the right book or online lecture and practice questions from the same book(s), marking questions on the basis of their difficulty level, so that the practice must be done accordingly, allotting more time to difficult topics. A practice test series must also be followedto gain experience on how to manage time and pressure during the actual examination.

  • Make notes and tricks

For easy learning and revision, make short notes and methods for each chapter. For example, the metal series in electrochemistry and the order of elements in the periodic table can easily be remembered by following a pattern. Similarly, in mathematics and physics, trigonometry and modern physics can be dealt quickly in a similar manner. Making notes in your language is very useful and hard to forget.

  • Utilize the resources

Practice previous years question papers and sample papers and take online mock tests. This will help you to acquire the skill of time management plus improve your knowledge.

  • Be confident

Do not follow someone’s path blindly; make your moves as every person has a different way of doing things. Learn the concepts of each subject well in advance and be confident within yourself. It will help you approach your goal with the positive attitude.
