National Level Medical Entrance Exam

There might be many medical entrance exams which are conducted for admissions to various medical courses. One of the national level entrance exams is NEET i.e national eligibility cum entrance test which is regulated by CBSE. It is held for providing admissions to MBBS and BDS courses which are offered by various government and private colleges in India. It is held once in a year in the month of May.

New in Entrance Exam-

It will be sole exam which will be conducted for providing admissions to MBBS and BDS courses except in AIIMS and JIPMER

It will be conducted in 10 languages which are Hindi, English, Tamil, Assamese, Gujarati, Bengali, Marathi, Oriya, Kannada and Telugu.

All Indian citizen are required to possess Aadhaar Card

Important Dates-

Start of Application- 31 January 2017

Last date for submitting the application form without late fee will be in 1 March 2017

Admit card will release in 15 April, 2017

Exam will be conducted on 7th May, 2017

Result will be declared in 8 June, 2017

Eligibility Criteria-

  • Candidates are required to be Indian Nationals and overseas citizens of India
  • The minimum age limit of the candidate is 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission
  • The maximum age limit of the candidate is 25 years for general candidates and 30 years for the candidates of reserved categories
  • Candidates must have cleared 12th class from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Bio-Technology or Biology as the subjects
  • Candidates from general categories will have to secure minimum of 50% marks in PCB group and for physically handicapped candidates it is 45% marks in aggregate and 40% marks for other reserved categories

Application Form-

The candidates can apply for the entrance exam through online mode only. The notification for the Medical Entrance Exam 2017 was released on 15th January, 2017

Candidates are suggested to fill the application form as per the prescribed instructions

Application Fee-

Application fee payment can be done through online and offline modes. By offline mode, candidates can make payment through debit card, credit card, net banking or paytm

Offline payment can be made through bank challan

For OBC/ General Candidates without late fee, the application fee is Rs.1400 and with late fee it is Rs.2800

For Reserved Candidates without late fee, the application fee is Rs.750 and with late fee it is Rs.2150

Seat Reservation-

For the candidates of Scheduled Caste it is 15%

For the candidates of Scheduled Tribes it is 7.5%

For the candidates of OBC categories it is 27%

For the candidates of PH categories it is 3%

NEET Result and Counselling

The result will be declared on 8 June 2017 on the official website of CBSE. The result will state that whether the candidates has qualified for all India 15% counselling and will also contain the NEET percentile of the candidates.
